Straight answers. If yours is not here, just ask.
Choosing QuiSoft Limited
I am only a sole trader. Are you too big for me?
Not at all. QuiSuite is happy to live on your laptop with no other users. It grows with you if you ever need more.
If I sign up, what is to stop you hiking my fees next year?
We do not put prices up for existing customers. What you pay on day one is the same as you pay in year six.
What if QuiSoft Limited goes out of business?
It is unlikely, as we are not in any debt. Even so, if QuiSoft Limited were ever to default, the source code is always available to our users, and can be obtained from our registered office. And because your data is in an open PostgreSQL database on your own premises, you always have it.
Why should I choose you over a famous competitor?
We provide what you need and want, not what a big supplier thinks you might need. We do not force bloatware on you to slow your system down, and we do not lock you in.
Can I talk to some of your existing customers?
We never reveal who our customers are; it would break every rule of confidentiality. Instead, try it yourself: every new company gets a 30-day free trial, and you can simply walk away if it does not suit.
Where are you based, and which areas do you cover?
We are based in Northern Ireland and currently serve Northern Ireland only, so that we can always reach you in person.
Your data
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data belongs to you, the client, and you have full control over it. It lives in a PostgreSQL database on your own computer or network, not on our servers, and you pay no hosting fees to keep it.
Do you store my accounts in the cloud?
No. QuiSuite runs on your own network or a single stand-alone PC. We never hold your accounts data.
What database does QuiSuite use?
PostgreSQL: free, open source and readable by any tool, now and always. No proprietary file formats.
If I leave, can I still get at my records?
Yes. Your records stay in your own open database, so you can produce them for a VAT inspection (which can look back two years) or a tax inspection (up to six years) without asking anyone's permission.
How is my data kept safe?
QuiSuite has user access control, an audit trail and built-in backup and restore. Because the data is on your premises, you decide who can reach it.
Running QuiSuite
Does it run on an Apple Mac or Linux?
Yes. QuiSuite runs on Windows, Apple Mac and Linux, so you can use the computers you already have.
Do I need to be connected to the internet?
No. QuiSuite does not depend on the internet being up 24/7: work carries on when the broadband drops. You only need a connection for things that are online by nature, such as sending email, filing with HMRC or downloading updates.
Do I need a server?
No. It runs on a single PC or laptop. For several users, it runs across your own office network.
Is it Making Tax Digital ready?
QuiSuite is being prepared for HMRC recognition. We will apply for Making Tax Digital for VAT in December 2026, and for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax as soon as HMRC reopens applications.
Can I move across from Sage 50?
Yes. You can bring your customers, suppliers and stock across from Sage 50. We can help with other packages too: see Bespoke Development.
How do updates work?
QuiSuite updates itself with signed automatic updates, so you always have the latest version and can trust where it came from.
Prices and trying it
How much does it cost?
QS Accounts is £10 a month (Basic), £15 a month (Standard) or £20 a month (Complete). Each Vertical Application (QS Bookings, QS Charity, QS Rental, QS Membership) is £5 a month on top. See QuiSuite for what each plan includes.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new company starts with a 30-day free trial of every module and application.
What is a flash pen demo?
A USB flash pen with QuiSuite on it. Plug it into your own PC, choose your application and try it in minutes. Nothing to install, nothing to pay. Ask for one.
Are there any hosting or cloud fees?
No. QuiSuite runs on your own computers, so there are no hosting fees, no cloud fees and no per-user charge for a data centre.
Support and bespoke work
Is support included?
Yes, it is included in your monthly price for as long as you subscribe, as set out in our Service Level Agreement. We help by telephone first and, if needed, visit you on site at no charge. See Support for our hours.
Can you change QuiSuite to suit my business?
Yes. Menus, screens, reports or a whole new module. Because QuiSuite already provides the framework, most changes take around a day and cost around £200 to £300. See Bespoke Development.
Can I own the source code of work you do for me?
Ask us. Two voluntary-sector organisations already hold the sole rights to the source code of applications we built for them.
Do you do work other than QuiSuite?
Yes: Qt desktop applications, PostgreSQL databases, websites, data migration and training.
